EC20 Error Main Motor Overtime
EC20 Error, this error mean different things.
1- Main shaft Jam - If you try to rotate the main shaft black knob and is impossible to make a full turn, this is the reason why the computer of your machine is displaying EC20 Error. The computer is programmed to show this error when the main motor feels an obstruction and can't move the main shaft. If this is the case of your machine, please check the the rotatory hook to see if there is an obstruction there.
Why this happen? Lack of maintenance to the main shaft (lubrication) , Lack of maintenance to rotary hook (cleaning and lubrication) or when the machine breaks a needle in some occasions the tip of the needle get stuck inside the rotary hook cousing the rotatory hook to jam preventing the main shaft to be able to turn freely.

2-Stop Position Sensor - Every time the embroidery machine stops, stops at 100 degree, this is the home position of the main shaft and in this position is where the machine can make color change and other regular functions like trimming etc. The stop position sensor tells the machine where to to stop due to a sensor with 2 magnets reading a metal disc with a notch, when sensor can see the other side of the magnet due to the notch of the disk is how the machine knows where to stop, the notch of the metal disc is calibrated exactly in between the 2 magnets of the sensor with the main shaft at 100 degree. When the sensor fails, the machine can not know where to to stop and after a few main shaft cycles the machine stops giving you an EC20 error on screen.
Why this happen? This can be caused by oiling to much the rear main shaft hole causing the main shaft bar to spread the excess oil to the sensor making the sensor no able to read the disk. Also is possible that dust can accumulate in the 2 magnets of the sensor causing the sensor to fail.
How do I know if the sensor is the cause of the EC20 error ? Turn your machine off and manually turn the black know to 100 degree and then turn the machine on, press the 100 degree icon on the screen of the machine, if machine does 2 or 3 full cycles lowering the needle and then suddenly stops and then the EC20 error pops up on screen, it is very probable that the stop position sensor needs to be replace.

3- Main Motor Failure - If the main motor fails to turn the main shaft, the EC20 error also will pop up on the screen.
Why this happen? It is hard to know why a main motor will suddenly stop working, the life expectancy of these type of motors are between 5-7 years depending of the usage of the machine.
How do I know if is the main motor failure? Turn your machine off and manually turn the black know to 100 degree and then turn the machine on, press the 100 degree icon on the screen of the machine. If the machine make 3 clicking noises with no moment of the main shaft, is probable that the main motor needs to be replace, Also if you open the back right cover of the machine (seeing the machine from the front) you will see a red light on in the drive box where the main motors are connected.
